Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need to pay to receive medical treatment at North Miami Beach Medical Center?

If your household income is low as defined by the current Miami Dade County Health Department Poverty Income Guidelines and you do not have health insurance, our services will be provided at no cost to you.

For example, an uninsured individual with an annual income of less than $10,000 would be considered eligible for free medical care by these guidelines.

Do I need to be a U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident to receive free services?

No. We do not evaluate the immigration status of our patients.

Are medications provided?

We provide free medications as our stocks allow. If we do not have the medication a patient needs, a prescription will be written for that patient. We will then request a church or patient’s relative, etc. to assist patient to purchase the necessary medication. Prescriptions are written for the least expensive, effective generic medication for the patient’s need.

How are laboratory and diagnostic services obtained?

Some small laboratory testing, for example, blood glucose monitoring, urine 10 tests dipsticks, pregnancy tests, stool blood testing are done on-site. More elaborate laboratory and diagnostic testing are sent out to the Jackson Memorial System or other local associates, who may bill the patient on a sliding scale also based on the patient’s ability to pay.

Do I have to be of the Christian faith to receive treatment at North Miami Beach Medical Center?

No. Our services are available to everyone who is indigent and uninsured regardless of religion, race, or national origin. The Christian Medical and Dental Association believes that Our Lord Jesus Christ cares about the welfare of all people. We wish to show our gratitude to Him by helping others in need.

Does the clinic accept patients who are members of Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs)?

No. Those patients are all assigned to the care of a Primary Care Physician within their HMO plan. Our primary purpose is to help our indigent neighbors who do not have access to the medical care they need.
